Japan Trip Day One

Day #1 Singapore - Tokyo Narita
8th-9th August 2008 (Friday)

We were told to reach Changi Airport Terminal 1 JAL counter at  8.30pm (8th August). The flight is scheduled to depart at 10:40pm and we'll arrived in Tokyo Narita Airport at about 6:35am Tokyo time. We were distributed our E-tickets and checked in our luggage accordingly.

E-tickets to be kept throughout the trip

Ticket Stubs from our boarding pass
We reached Narita about 6:30am (9th August) and the tour guide was already there to receive us. Our first stop would be to Tokyo DisneyLand. They had included a one day's pass in the package. The weather in Tokyo was horrible and all of us were sweating like nobody's business. Really a bad time to visit Japan.

As it was really warm, we went to take those rides that will go through the air conditioned places like the Pirates of the Carribean. Though there was a queue, but at least the place was with aircon... thus bearable.

Pirates of the Carribean Boat Ride
After the short but cooling boat ride, we proceeded to a small cafetaria where they served Mickey Mouse Waffle for a short rest. The Waffle was not bad but very expensive. Nonetheless, we had a good rest from the scorching sun.

After the waffle treat, we went to walk around and took some more pictures before deciding to go for another air-conditioned kiddy boat ride - "it's a small world"  to cool ourselves down again.

After the kiddy boat ride, we headed to take the roller coaster- Big Thunder Mountain; which was not a least bit scary since the rides at Disney are meant for children.

After the roller coaster, we decided it was time for lunch since everyone was hungry and warm. We chose an interesting looking restaurant named Hungry Bear Restaurant which was packed with tourists. However, we were lucky enough to get a table pretty fast. We ordered their signature Japanese Curry Pork Chop rice. It was pretty nice and we managed to fill our empty stomachs and got ourselves a cool drink each.

After lunch, we went to the Westernland Shootin' Gallery where the guys show how well they can shoot.   Hubby managed to get his 10 points at 2nd try.

After the shooting game, we walked around more and took more pictures.

More phototaking in the heat

We also went to a shop that demonstrates the glass blowing technique and they sells very exquisite items for of course an exorbitant pricing.

We went to the souvenir shops to take a look at their stuff and found this interesting machine that creates coins with disney characters embossed/punched on it.

We proceeded to the "Haunted Mansion" ride after the souvenir shop.

We ended our day at Disneyland at the Center Street CoffeeHouse where we ordered a drink each.

After that, the Hong Leong Staff were brought to have their Gala Dinner @ Yakatabune Dinner Cruise while the family members can either choose to stay behind at Disneyland or go back to the hotel at Grand Prince Hotel New Takanawa. Hubby chose to go back to the hotel with several others as the heat was inbearable.

Hubby settled his own dinner with the rest and bought his favourite Tiramisu cake on his way back. He still craves for it up till now!

Day One was nothing very exciting but tiring with the warm weather. The Gala Dinner on the cruise wasn't very special but everyone had fun trying to make the hosts drunk. Unfortunately, I did not have my camera with me then thus no photos to show. We were sent back to the hotel to rest around 10 plus in the night.

We were assigned Room no. 2255. :)
