Japan Trip Day Two

Day #2 Tokyo Mount Fuji - Gotemba Premium Outlet
10th August 2008 (Saturday)

The is the second day after we landed in Japan. Weather is still disgusting warm by the way. We'll be going to Mount Fuji and hopefully the temperature is lower. Apparently, we are not allowed to drive up all the way to the top so we'll probably be catching it half way through at the 5th station. No one complained coz as long as it's cooler there, i think everyone will appreciate it. Indeed it was a little cooler there. We did some souvenir shopping buying some chocolates, pocket mirrors for the ladies, mochi sweets etc. They were real expensive.  We also tried the BBQ sotong there... not too bad....

And we use the machine to do the coin thingy again... this time for the entire West Zone in Hong Leong WM 08. Steven say it's for good luck!

After staying at Mount Fuji 5th Station for about 1.5 hours and everyone was done with their souvenir shopping, it's time for lunch. We were brought to this Tepanyaki Restaurant (don't recall the name) near a lake (河口湖) for our lunch. The food is ok but the smoke from it can kill.

Lunch at Tepanyaki Restaurant - Look at Hubby's happy face!

All happy that we're finally getting some rest and food!
After lunch, we had a very long journey in the coach before we reach the Gotemba Premium Outlets where there were some sales going on. Things there aren't really that cheap. We bought a couple of Sports Tees for hubby... nothing much! However, we had a long wait after the stipulated time to meet as dear Aaron Kong mistook the timing and came back one hour late. Everyone was frustrated waiting either in the coach or at the exit.

After shopping and the long wait, it was time to travel to Shinjuku for dinner again. The journey was a long one. About 2-3 hours before we reached. I don't recall the name of the restaurant too... but the place was cosier than the afternoon's one and the food was better according to hubby.

After dinner, we had a short walk around Shinjuku area, took some pictures before we headed back to Grand Prince Hotel New Takanawa again to rest for the day.

We were given the breakfast coupon for the next day's breakfast in the hotel too. That was certainly one thing hubby was looking forward to. :)

The second day was not as bad as the first one. At least we managed some shopping... thoogh not very much. Was looking forward more to the 2nd part of the trip where we do our F&E to Osaka too.
