Japan Trip Day Six

Day #6 Osaka (Osakajo Park - Osaka Castle)
14th August 2008 (Wednesday)

We planned to visit both Osaka Castle and Nara Deer Park today but weather wasn't good, so we spent the whole day at Osaka Castle then back to the hotel to rest.

As usual, we scheduled to meet at Cross Hotel Lobby at around 9.30am. However, our dear Aaron overslept. After meeting up, we took the JR from Namba to JR Osaka Station, then transit to the Osaka Loop Line to Osakajokoen Station. Upon reaching there, we saw a train ride that could ferry us through the Osakajo Park. Since the temperature was unbearable, we decided to pay 200 yen per pax for the ride, instead of taking the painful walk there.

Nishio Train Ride
After alighting the train, we saw a booth selling ice-cream. Exactly what we needed for the hot day! We bought one ice cream each and cooled ourselves down before continuing to walk around and take more photos.
The ice-cream that saves our day!

Series of photos before we reach the Osaka Castle Museum
Some of the places in the museum forbids photo taking, thus we did not manage to take many. The castle museum has an observation platform with city views and it was cooling up there with strong winds. I saw a cute little japanese boy with his mum and hubby took a quick photo of me standing next to him.

We proceed for our lunch at the restaurant nearby as we were famished. All of us ordered different stuff and were issued small tickets. The food was alright, not fantastic, not disgusting.

After lunch, we took the Nishio train back to Osakojoen station and headed back to Namba JR station where we did some shopping for Japanese snacks to bring back to Singapore. Hubby also bought beard papa cream puff... he was so excited when he saw it there. Haha!

We went back to the hotel to rest for a while before meeting at Spotaka which is just across the street. Spotaka is an entire building which sells sports wear of different brands.  (Address: 大阪府大阪市中央区西心斎橋2-5-9 TEL 06-6211-7175). We only got a big Adidas bag to increase our luggage space since the suitcase will not be able to contain all the foods that we bought earlier. :)

After shopping at Spotaka, we went to the Japanese Restuarant (鳗) at the underground link, leading to JR Namba station for dinner. I had the Unagi rice and it was thumbs up, despite the expensive price we paid.

We made our way back to the cosy hotel after dinner. We took pictures of us in the pyjamas provided too, just for fun and memories. :)
